12 Nutrition Field Assistants
General Objective:
Under the supervision of the Nutrition Officer, the Field Assistant is responsible for:

Assist in the implementation of Blanket Supplementary Feeding Programs (TSFP) and others if applicable such as Community Management of Acute Malnutrition (CMAM) or the mother-Baby Friendly Spaces (MBFS) and conducting needs assessments.

Provide ongoing support and training for selected community focal points and partner organization as well as other team members if applicable.

Identify gaps in current activities and propose new ideas based on the needs coming from the field.

Ensure quality of nutrition and social activities and the monitoring of beneficiaries in the target area.

Study and promote the use of community networks to raise awareness of breastfeeding and infant care practices in the area.
Objective 1: Assist in conducting community awareness campaign

Providing nutrition sensitization sessions to women who are pregnant or breastfeeding, and other caregivers of children, as well as women of reproductive age and men and boys on infant and young child feeding (IYCF) practices, nutrition in emergencies as well as sexual and reproductive health and general wellbeing.

Assist in community mobilization collaboration with other stakeholders to ensure maximum participation.
Objective 2: Programmes’ activities

Conduct screening, treatment or supplementation management and follow up of beneficiaries from TSFP/CMAM/IYCF programs to the best practices.

Collaborate on collecting information for and utilizing supporting documents and materials needed for BSFP/CMAM/IYCF implementation and produce field reports when required.

Participate in needs assessments as required (MUAC1 mass screening, IYCF assessments, etc.).

Support in mobilizing and informing targeted community on project activities and identify potential community focal points.
Objective 3: Reporting and coordination

Support in daily reporting of field activities to the Nutrition Officer (materials delivered, work achieved, beneficiaries’ attendance, obstacles and constrains) taking into consideration reporting requirements and monitoring and/or evaluation tools and indicators.

Participate in the preparation and collection of data for communication, advocacy and capitalization purposes (case studies, etc).

- Basic health background (Midwife, Nurse, Nutritionist, Pharmacist and Public health) other backgrounds related to psychology or social work.
- Sense of confidentiality.
- Skilled leader to lead community activities.
- Good listening, empathy, good communication and adaptation capacity.
- Female candidates from Rafah, Khan Yunis and Deir El Balah are preferred.
- Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking Arabic, ideally basic English.
