Save the Children is seeking qualified candidates to fulfill the following vacancies in its Gaza Office:
    

2 Construction Site Engineers- Position#: (CA.HR.G.15.004)

Contract Duration: 4 months

Main Responsibilities:
1-Assist in implement the technical needs assessment, review the project shop drawings, technical design and the detailed site plan.
2-Follow up the project sites, ensure the quality of work according the technical specification
3-Ensure the safety measurement at the project sites
4-Works closely with the partners, contractor and communities at the field level.
5-Assists in the preparation for any field visits requested for visitors
6-Review the contractor’s daily report and Submit regular and timely report to the Field Officer
7-Assists in reviewing the payment request submitted by contractor 
8 Communicates effectively with the Save the Children project team members, other staff of Save the Children, project partners and communities
9-Actively participates in the regular meetings with supervisors, partners, contractors
10-Assists the SC team in any other tasks and duties required, requested, and approved by Gaza Programs Senior Manager

Qualifications and Experience:
-University degree in civil engineering.
-Four years practical site work experience.
-Effective communication skills in written and spoken English and Arabic.
-Ability to work under pressure
-Ability to communicate effectively with a range of people.
-Understanding of the inter-relationship between bills, specifications and drawings.
-Ability to operate standard computer and engineering software, i.e. Ms-word, Excel, Outlook, CAD.
-Understanding of Health & Safety issues at work and on site.
-Understanding of construction contracts in relation to projects and of the relevance of sub contract terms and conditions.
