Medical Aid for Palestinians (MAP) is a leading UK charity dedicated to improving the health and dignity of Palestinians affected by conflict, occupation, and displacement. With a focus on the occupied Palestinian territory and Palestinian refugee camps in Lebanon, we provide vital health and medical care to those in need, particularly in crisis zones like Gaza. MAP is seeking a dedicated and community-focused Accountability to Affected Populations (AAP) Officer to strengthen our commitment to transparency, community engagement, and feedback-driven programming in Gaza. The role is responsible for reviewing and implementing effective feedback and complaints mechanisms, ensuring community concerns are captured, analyzed, and addressed to inform programme decisions. The officer will co-develop an AAP strategy, support the integration of accountability measures across all programme sectors, and design community-friendly materials to raise awareness of rights and services.
This position also involves delivering training sessions and workshops on AAP and the Core Humanitarian Standard (CHS), supporting staff and partners to uphold best practices. The AAP Officer will actively engage in community consultations, coordinate with inter-agency AAP and PSEA networks, and build strong relationships with local stakeholders. Regular reporting on feedback trends and recommendations will be essential, as will monitoring and improving accountability systems to ensure timely, confidential, and inclusive responses. The ideal candidate will bring strong communication skills, a proactive mindset, and a commitment to placing communities at the centre of humanitarian action.

The ideal candidate will have relevant experience in the humanitarian sector, preferably with an international NGO, and a solid understanding of AAP, CHS, Protection Mainstreaming, and PSEA principles (PSEA training certification is an asset). Proven experience in managing feedback and complaints mechanisms and using data collection tools for reporting is essential.
Strong communication and community engagement skills in both English and Arabic are required, along with the ability to deliver training and handle sensitive information confidentially. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, and strong analytical and reporting abilities are important. The candidate should be well-organized, proactive, and able to manage multiple priorities under pressure.
