Accountant

Job Description
AMIDEAST is an international, non-profit, educational organization in the West Bank and Gaza with offices throughout the Middle East and North Africa. AMIDEAST is recruiting for an Accountant to be based in Ramallah supporting the four-year Leadership and Teacher Development (LTD) Program which is funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).

Main Responsibilities:
-Make sure that all financial transactions are appropriately and adequately supported.
-Prepare accounting vouchers and post transactions into Deltek Software on timely manner.
-Monitor cash transactions and prepare the monthly bank reconciliation.
-Maintain Program’s financial records and other related supporting documents.
-Prepare Zero VAT Requests and the monthly VAT Refund Sheet.
-Participate in procurement activities and the monthly Subaward Report preparation.
-Other tasks as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications:
-Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
-At least 1 year of experience in accounting in local/international NGO.
-Familiarity with USAID financial requirements is preferred.
-Fluency in English and Arabic.
-Excellent knowledge of software applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet, and e-mail.
-Ability to maintain confidentiality
-Precise attention to detail and organizational skills.
