Global Consulting Group for Development and Excellence (GCG) is currently implementing a subcontract on the USAID funded and Tetra Tech led ‘Communities Thrive Project (CTP)’.  Key purpose of the subcontract is the provision by GCG of long and short term technical assistance Consultants to the CTP.  To support GCG Partners and staff in fulfilling the subcontract’s terms, plus potentially other work in the future, GCG is seeking a qualified candidate to assume the following vacancy: 
 

Part-time Accountant, based in its office in Al-Bireh


Position Purpose:  As GCG’s Accountant, work on all financial matters related to sub-contract, ensuring compliance and accountability as per terms, conditions and requirements.  Ensure the quality and timely submission of monthly invoices.  Report to GCG Partners on any matters related to overall budget and expenditures on a regular basis

Responsibilities:  Includes the following:

submission on a timely manner of monthly invoices,
-ensuring letter perfect quality and minimal issues back (at least new issues as progress is made);
-manage financial activities, including reviewing petty cash, travel expenses, reconciliation, staff salaries, end of service payments and consultants payments; prepare financial reports and highlight any concerns/matters arising to GCG Partners;
-contribute to finalizing manuals and policies;
-prepare monthly reconciliations for accounts receivables and accounts payables;
-oversee the filing of financial and accounting records, ensuring easy access both electronically and by hard copy;
-update Aseel Accounting package on a monthly basis;
-follow-up on bank accounts and reconciliation against budget and expenditure;
-preparation of bank transfer request and cash invoices  for partners,
-staff and external consultants;
-join meeting on financial matters requested by clients;
-review external consultants, venders, payment request, and invoices;
-support and help the team in preparation of budgets for clients/bids and other financial requirements;
-and follow up with the financial and tax department of the Palestinian Authority.
-Manage and follow up financial matters concerning Short Term Technical Assistant (STTA) Consultants.

Key qualifications:

-Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related subject;
-a minimum of  5 years’ experience inclusive of USAID funded projects/programs;
-strong organizational and communication skills;
-good inter-personal skills;
-ability to multi-task, while remaining calm and professional;
-excellent command of computer programs in particular Accounting packages and Excel;
-flexibility, reliability, tactfulness, discretion and punctuality;
-ability to work with others;
-ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines;
-and excellent English language skills.
