Accountant

The accountant will take over the following duties under the supervision of the Head of Finance and Accounts Unit:

• Prepare and review the daily financial transactions according to GCMHP Financial Manual.
• Managing the projects budgets and following up the project’s expenditure.
• Preparation of the expenditure plan for the projects in coordination with the project coordinator and ensure timely follow-up with the project coordinator.
• Enter all accounting data into the accounting system and ensure completeness and accuracy of financial information.
• Preparing payment and receipt vouchers and ensuring full supporting documents for all transactions in compliance with the GCMHP’s and donor's policies and procedures.
• Timely and accurate preparation of monthly and quarterly financial reports for the projects.
• Prepare monthly bank reconciliations and cash flow for the projects.
• Maintain an up-to-date archiving system for financial transactions and any other financial documents (both soft and hard copies).
• Any other tasks requested by the direct supervisor.

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting is required and preferable accounting in English.
• At least three years of experience in accounting with NGOs or INGOs.
• Knowledge of NGOs & donors’ financial policies and procedures.
• Proficiency of English & Arabic language (reading, writing and speaking).
• Experience in computer skills and the use of different accounting systems and office Software (MS Project, Excel, Access, Word…etc.)
• Ability to work under pressure and within a team.
