Position Activities Coordinator - APLA
Position Purpose
The Activities Coordinator will contribute to achieving APLA’s mandate by designing, managing, and implementing various activities that align with APLA’s strategic objectives. The role will focus on advocacy, capacity building, and coordination to strengthen local governance and foster collaboration between APLA, its members, and international partners.
APLA Background
Established in 1997, APLA is an independent institution that brings together all LGUs. APLA is mandated with representing the collective interests of LGUs, providing lobbying and advocacy in support of LGU capacities, and facilitating the exchange of information and best practices among LGUs. APLA further serves as a channel of dialogue between the central government and LGUs across Palestine with a view to enabling them to provided better services to Palestinian citizens. To this avail, APLA defends the rights of and represents LGUs at all national, regional, and international levels.
Accordingly, APLA is looking forward to hiring an Activities Coordinator to fulfill the following tasks:
Key Responsibilities The Activities Coordinator will be responsible for:
1. Designing and implementing diverse activities, including advocacy initiatives, capacity-building programs, training sessions, seminars, conferences, thematic group meetings, and networking events, aligned with APLA's strategic objectives.
2. Conducting needs assessments and surveys with stakeholders to identify and prioritize activities.
3. Supporting the planning and execution of activities across APLA’s departments.
4. Establishing and maintaining active communication with APLA members and partners to ensure collaboration and engagement.
5. Overseeing the daily management, planning, and execution of APLA’s activities and services.
6. Facilitating planning sessions, capacity-building efforts, and field-based activities to strengthen LGUs.
7. Participating in the development and implementation of media and outreach campaigns to promote APLA’s services and activities.
8. Assisting in preparing and developing project proposals, log frames, implementation matrices, and evaluation tools.
9. Regularly updating contact information for members, partners, and stakeholders to maintain accurate records.
10. Preparing various reports, including progress reports, assessment reports, and evaluations, to ensure effective implementation of activities.
11. Conducting consultations with internal and external stakeholders, including APLA members and partners.
12. Supporting the coordination of meetings, conferences, and public discussions, including handling administrative and logistical tasks.
13. Delivering oral briefings and presentations and representing APLA in relevant events and activities.
14. Performing other duties as required to support APLA’s mission.
Reporting requirements
The Activities Coordinator will report on a day-to-day basis to the Technical Support Unit Manager.

Minimum qualifications Qualifications and experiences:
- Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Political Science, Development Studies, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of proven experience in coordinating activities and projects, including capacity building, and administrative meetings.
Skills:
- Excellent verbal and written communication in Arabic and English.
- Proficiency in public speaking and delivering presentations.
- Strong interpersonal skills to build relationships with stakeholders.
- Ability to plan, execute, and evaluate events and activities.
- Creativity in designing diverse and engaging activities.
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite and event management tools.
- Knowledge of local governance and public sector policies.
