Admin/ Finance Assistant
Contract duration: 6 months, with the possibility of extension
Location: Gaza Strip / Palestine

Première Urgence Internationale (PUI) is a French non-governmental organization and has been working in occupied Palestinian territory (oPt) since 2002.
PUI is operating in the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, and in the Gaza Strip. The organization is working in different fields such as emergency relief, shelter, food security and livelihoods, and protecting Gaza’s cultural heritage.
The Admin/ Finance Assistant will contribute to the implementation of the Administrative , Finance & HR operations of PUI Gaza Strip. S/He will assist in carrying-out and following-up all Admin tasks related to PUI Gaza Base. S/He will ensure that the required documentation is in compliance with international standards and internal policies of PUI.
The Admin/ Finance Assistant reports directly to the Admin / Finance Manager. Under the supervision of Emergency Field Coordinator and Gaza Strip Field Coordinator.
This is a full-time position and working hours are from Sunday to Thursday, 08:00 – 16:00.
Given the current emergency in Gaza, flexilbility on the part of all PUI staff in this is regard will be appreciated and required.
Tasks and Responsibilities
Finance & Accounting
- Manage and handle cash transactions with staff, partners, suppliers, etc.
- Accurately maintain cashbook records, in hard and soft copy.
- Keep up and implement PUI Finance and Procurement Rules and Regulations.
- Prepare monthly financial reports.
Human Resources
- Act as PUI’s focal point for HR related matters in the Gaza base office
- Support the processes of recruitment, induction, complaint handling, appraisals, and termination in coordination with PUI Admin / Finance Manager in compliance with PUI Policies and national legislation.
- Accurately produce and maintain HR records.
- Produce monthly timesheets for staff.
Administration and Office Management
- Ensure accurate and timely filing of documentation, in hard and soft copy, as per PUI’s standing filing requirements.
- Ensure that reports are produced by all departments and submitted on time to the PUI Coordination Office.
- Act as PUI’s focal point concerning National Health Insurance, Taxes, and Social Contributions for PUI staff.
- Ensure a flawless functioning of the office.
- Support the Admin / Finance Manager with preparing for annual reports and audits.

Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in Accounting / Finance / Administration / Logistics or related fields.
- A minimum of three years experience of working with INGOs in a similar role and context.
- Knowledge of donor policies, and rules and regulations is an asset.
- Language skills: excellent command of spoken and written English and Arabic
- Good knowledge of MS Office software - including Word, Outlook, Excel.
Note:
The candidate must have permanent or temporary residence either in Rafah City or in Deir Al-Balah, close to PUIs Emergency Guest Houses in Rafah-Almawasi and Deir Al-Balah.
