By blending heritage buildings, education, and enterprise, Turquoise Mountain has created sustainable heritage places and livelihoods that support the revival of artisan industries. Turquoise Mountain now works in Afghanistan, Myanmar, Saudi Arabia, and Palestine and Jordan. Since 2006, Turquoise Mountain has restored over 150 historic buildings, created employment for thousands of artisans and builders, built over 50 small businesses, and supported and generated over $17 million in sales of traditional crafts to domestic and international markets.
Turquoise Mountain works in Palestine with artisans practicing traditional crafts that are under threat. We connect artisans to new and sustainable markets and provide training and other support to them and the wider artisanal community.
Job Summary:
TM is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Admin Finance Assistant (AFA) for its office in Bethlehem. The AFA to support the daily administrative and financial operations of our company. The AFA will support the finance team in managing daily financial transactions, maintaining accurate record-keeping, and ensuring compliance with company policies, donor requirements and local law. The ideal candidate will be proactive, reliable, and have strong multitasking abilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Support:
- Input financial data into the accounting system with a high degree of accuracy.
- Ensure maintaining accurate financial records, including invoices, receipts, and expense reports.
- Help in maintaining compliance with financial regulations and company policies.
- Reviewing documents submitted for payments and advances.
- Assist in verifying amounts, budget lines, and arithmetic accuracy.
- Ensure cash and bank reconciliations are made before closing the month.
- Assist preparation of monthly tax returns, payments, clearance and reconciliation.
- Ensuring proper booking of accounts receivable/payable, prepaid accounts … etc in coordination with Finance lead.
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports.
- Process and track invoices, payments, and purchase orders.
- Ensure all financial records have proper backups, maintained and uploaded on cloud.
- Prepare documents for external audits and assist in audits preparation.
- Support in reviewing implementing partners’ financial reports, back up documents, preparing and following up comments and final reporting.
- Assist in ensuring sufficient petty cash and bank funds in both currencies.
- Reporting daily cash and bank balances to the finance lead.
- Preparing payment vouchers and bank orders for review and signatures.
- Responsible for the petty cash and petty cash payments
- Administrative and Operational Support:
- Assist in the preparation and processing of purchase requests, ensuring accuracy and completeness of information.
- Generate and track purchase orders, maintaining detailed records of orders placed and received.
- Assist in the administration of contracts, including filing, tracking deadlines, and ensuring compliance.
- Coordinate goods receptions, verifying received items against purchase orders and resolving discrepancies.
- Maintain organized records of all procurement and contract-related documents, both physically and digitally.
- Assist in coordinating office supplies and maintaining inventory, ensuring adequate stock levels.
- Organize and file financial and operations documents for easy access and reference, both physically and online, adhering to established filing systems.
- Assist in the filing and maintenance of documentation related to audits.
- Provide general administrative support to the finance and operations team, including scheduling meetings, maintaining records, and handling correspondence.
- Assist in preparing reports and presentations as requested by senior staff.
- Assist in the accurate and confidential filing of HR documents, including employee records, performance reviews, and training materials.
- Assist in maintaining and updating HR databases and filing systems, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and company policies.
- Assist with the onboarding process by preparing new hire packets.
- Customer, Vendor and Partners Support:
- Assist in maintaining strong relationships with vendors and clients by addressing inquiries and handling basic account-related issues.
- Track and manage outstanding payments and follow up when necessary.
- Other Duties:
- Perform any other duties assigned by the finance or management team.

Requirements:
- A bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.
- 2-3 years of experience as a Finance Assistant, Admin Assistant, or a similar role.
- Familiarity with financial software (e.g., QuickBooks, Excel, etc.).
- Strong knowledge of office management and finance/admin procedures.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Ability to commute and work from Turquoise Mountain office in Bethlehem on daily basis.
