Position: Advocacy and Training Coordinator
 
Location: Gaza City
 
Duration: 12 months (Full-time), with possibility to extend according to the availability of funds.
 
Report to: Project Manger
 
Social Developmental Forum is an NGO operating in Palestine, established in 2006 as an initiative of a group of young activities. We are a small team but full of energy. SDF seeks to empower the Palestinian community, with special focus on the vulnerable groups. SDF has three main programs: Civil Empowerment and Human Rights, Socio-economic Empowerment, Media and communication.
 
WASLA is a center for digital advocacy specialized in increasing the effectiveness of digital advocacy in Palestine, by improving skills and developing digital media production by better investing in digital platforms and investing in social media networks within a participatory approach that brings together youth actors and civil society organizations to defend Palestinian human rights for a just and inclusive life for all. Wasla Center was launched in July 2019 on the initiative of Social Developmental Forum in partnership with Medical Aid for Palestinians- MAP.
 
We are looking for an advocacy and training coordinator for WASLA. Roles and Responsibilities:
 
1) Training Tasks
 
Following up the implementation of training activities according to the project’s work plan.
Building a database of trainers and consultants in the areas of the project’s work.
Responsible for reviewing the training content and archiving training materials.
2) Advocacy Tasks
 
Planning for and implementing advocacy campaigns and awareness activities for WASLA Center and SDF.
Developing advocacy plans for the targeted institutions in the project.
Technical supervision on the implementation of digital efficiency program for the targeted NGOs and giving guidance to improve the performance of mentorship plans.
Supporting the preparation of a promotion plan for WASLA center and the project activities.
Overseeing the digital products and building strong relationship between WASLA and media channels and influencers.
Act as the focal point of communication with project beneficiaries.
3) Reporting Tasks
 
Submitting the required reports and work plans according to the work requirements of the project and the institution.
Archiving the documents related to training and advocacy activities.

Job Requirements

A bachelor’s degree in business administration, development studies, media, or related fields.

At least 3 years of relevant work experience. Prior experience in working in NGOs is an asset.

Excellent spoken and written English and Arabic.

Good background in disability and youth sector in the Palestinian context.

Strong knowledge in digital tools, training methods and outreach and advocacy campaigns.

Good skills in reporting and demonstration of experience in practicing conceptual tools (e.g. logical framework);

Strong communication skills and networking abilities with diverse community groups.

Computer skills (MS office, virtual apps, office apps/platforms, social media platforms and e-mail).
