SUMMARY OF PRINCIPAL RESPONSBILITIES:
Under the direction of the Director, the Advocacy Manager is expected to support advancing the organization's strategic objectives at large by liaising with national decision makers and relevant stakeholders, as well as engaging with regional and international networks to advance prospects relevant to climate security in general, and the WASH and renewable energy sectors in specific.
General duties:
- Assist in developing and implementing comprehensive outreach strategies
- Conducting effective networking and communications with government officials, NGOs, experts, think tanks and business groups.
- Maintain up-to-date analysis of the external context, including mapping and database of stakeholders, potential partners, supporters and champions
- Review of national and regional events and developments on the technical and geopolitical side and provide assessment on implications on the strategic positioning of the organization, including but not limited to developments in the field of WASH, energy, economic synergies, within the larger context of political and security developments.
- Support the Director and other staff members in developing work mechanisms and outreach strategies in line with the programmes and activities plans.
- Develop and provide input to policy briefs in relation to aspects of water and sanitation, energy, environmental and socio-economic developments on a national and regional level.
- Lead on building a network of champions, and engaging public opinion shapers
- Provide support in preparation of national, regional and international roundtables, conferences events.
- Build and follow up on advocacy cases and campaigns, including but not limited to liaising with relevant stakeholders, preparing plans, building advocacy files and understanding legal procedures and processes.
- Work closely with the Communications and Media Officer on content development, highlighting achievements and reputation enhancement
- Represent the organization in national and international forums, committees and events as assigned by the Director
- Implement other tasks as requested by the Director

Qualifications and Experience:
- BA Degree in public relations, communications, development, or any other related fields. Master’s degree is a plus.
- Minimum 5 years of solid experience in the field of out-reach and institutional relations
- Proven experience in providing strategic analysis and policy advice within complex organizational settings
- Fluency in English and Arabic languages with excellent oral and writing skills, Hebrew is a plus.
- Excellent computer skills (MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
Required Competencies
- Excellent organization, planning, communication and follow-up skills.
- Ability to handle multi-tasks and meet strict deadlines.
- Ability to draft documents on short notice.
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills, including writing strategies, briefing papers, concept notes, progress reports, presentations, official letters etc. with the ability to synthesize messages to diverse audiences, both in Arabic and English.
- Experience in event planning and management.
- Team player, displaying cultural, gender, religion, race, nationality and age sensitivity and adaptability, with qualities of patience, tact and diplomacy.
Desirable:
- Experience in the WASH sector and advocacy work.
- Political awareness and interest in analysis of political developments
- Analytical strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities
- Discretion and sound judgment in applying expertise to highly complex and/or sensitive issues
- Strong diplomacy skills
