Save the Children Sweden (SCS) is a Swedish international non-governmental organization. We influence public opinion and support children at risk. Save the Children Sweden seeks advocacy officer , She / he will contribute to the enhancement of the impact of SCS’s programme in oPt, to promote the Rights of the Child in accordance with United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child through cooperation with local organisations, institutions, authorities and international organisations.
Further, to strengthen internal communications, strengthen partner organisations´ competence and capacity in communications, and contribute to SCS as a strong child rights organisation.

Duty station: Ramallah office
Duration: 12 months, local contract, with possible extension

The successful candidate will:
-Contribute to the long-term strategic communication planning of SCS’s programme
-Ensure that the communications activities actively support the work of SCS in oPt in a way that it contributes to achieving the overall objectives and to the effectiveness of the programme work
-Set up and implement communication and visibility plans
-Draft press releases and other media materials and liaise with the media
-Support fundraising and reporting efforts with relevant background information and documentation
-Coordinate, assist and participate in SC Alliance joint advocacy efforts and in the SCS MENA regional team work on the communications and advocacy component.

Qualifications
-Human Rights Studies, or relevant university degree
-Working experience in advocacy or information/communications
-Excellent command of the English and Arabic Languages (Spoken and Written)
-Experience with the media a plus
-Ability to manage different and multiple tasks and to deliver in a short period of time
-Ability to work in a team, both as leader and participant.
