Agricultural Engineer- Veterinarian

In the framework of the project “Emergency support to the local communities relying
on livestock for their subsistence in West Bank” pending approval from European
Commission’s Directorate General for Humanitarian Aid (ECHO) Palestinian Livestock Development Center (PLDC) is Palestinian breeders organization, non governmental organization not seeking for profits, working in rural development with special focus on small ruminant.
UCODEP is an Italian NGO is a no profit, pluralist association, based on the values of solidarity, cooperation, non-violence, social justice and democracy and was established in 1990. UCODEP has been working in the Palestinian Territory since 1996.
(PLDC),(UCODEP) is looking for a veterinarian and an agricultural engineer who will work in the abovementioned project in Hebron Area. The project is implemented in partnership with the Italian NGO UCODEP and is an emergency intervention aimed at supporting the breeders living in the most remote area of the Southern Hebron Governorate. PLDC will be responsible to set up a mobile clinic that will carry out veterinary assistance, training, extension and artificial insemination.
Skills and competencies
Job Title: Veterinarian Job
- Degree in Veterinary
- Previous experience in diagnosis and veterinary treatments
- Previous experience in trainings and extension services (veterinary treatments, surgery)
- Knowledge of Southern Hebron Area (Massafer Yatta and Bedouin Area)
- Knowledge of artificial insemination is preferable
- Previous experience with local or international NGO is preferable
- Good command of written and spoken English
- Driving Licence
Job Title: Agricultural Engineer
-Degree in Agricultural Engineer (specialization in Animal Production)
- Previous experience in trainings and extension services
- Knowledge of Southern Hebron Area (Massafer Yatta and Bedouin Area)
- Knowledge of artificial insemination is preferable
- Previous experience with local or international NGO is preferable
- Good command of written and spoken English
- Driving Licence
Duration of the contract: until November 2009
