Job Description
World Vision is a Christian relief, development and advocacy organization dedicated to working with
children, families and communities to overcome poverty and injustice.
World Vision Jerusalem-West Bank-Gaza, is implementing a US$1.5M project that aims to contribute to economic recovery, food security, and stabilization of poor communities in the northern and southern Gaza Strip. This will be achieved through the immediate creation of short-term employment through cash-for-work employment, and will contribute to longer-term economic recovery by rehabilitating private agricultural lands and water cisterns to enable households to both meet their own household food security needs and to prepare them to establish viable market linkages for sale of production surpluses. Major activities of the project include capacity building for farmers and implementing small-scale agricultural projects for poor and marginalized farmers. The lifespan of the project is 12 months. World Vision Jerusalem-West Bank-Gaza is seeking an:

 
Agronomist (based in Rafah)

The successful candidate will:
Coordinate the implementation of small-scale projects for farmers through local committees
Liaise with project partners and livelihood stakeholders Follow up on cash for work agricultural activities and assure quality of training programs Submit timely and high quality reports

Qualifications/Requirements :
-Bachelor degree in agriculture, civil engineering or relevant subject
-Three years experience in project coordination and/or extension with NGOs working in agriculture
and team leadership
-Knowledge and background in organic farming is an asset
-Good knowledge and understanding of the agricultural sector in the Gaza Strip
-Excellent English language skills (spoken and written)
-Strong communication and interpersonal skills
-Proficiency in MS Office
-Commitment to achieving quality results and service
-Ability to think clearly, deeply and broadly
-Demonstrated ability to build and maintain collaborative relationships
-Honesty and strong identification with World Vision’s Core Values
