The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) is seeking highly qualified candidates for the position of AID Development Assistance Assistant within the Democracy and Governance Office (DGO) of the USAID Mission for West Bank & Gaza. The primary purpose of this position is to support the DGO through a variety of administrative, technical and program/project duties. The position requires knowledge of AID Development Assistance documentation procedures and requirements, USAID policies, and DGO programs and projects in the West Bank and Gaza. Responsibilities include assisting the DG office in the design, development, implementation, and management of programs; preparing required documentation and routine correspondence for DGO activities; conducting field monitoring and organizing site visits; and ensuring the smooth operation of the DGO. The incumbent will provide additional support to the Office Director and DG team as needed. This position is based in Tel Aviv and requires the ability to commute to the office daily.
QUALIFICATIONS SOUGHT:
• At least two years of post-secondary education, preferably in finance, business, accounting or organizationrelated field is required.
• A minimum of three years of progressively responsible experience is required, preferably in budget, finance, accounting, administrative or organizational management, or related work in a non-governmental organization, international organization or the like.
• Knowledge of Democracy and Governance issues and programs is desired.
• Must have the ability to obtain, analyze, organize and interpret data and to present findings in both oral and written form. Must be able to prepare precise and accurate reports with minimal grammatical errors; and to develop and present briefings in English.
• Must have the ability to develop and maintain working-level contacts at the host government level.
• Strong skills in the operation of computers and software program applications, which may include Excel, PowerPoint or other database software, and word processing programs such as Microsoft Word, are required.
• Level IV(fluent) English speaking and writing ability is required. Fluency (level IV) of Arabic and/or Hebrew required.
