The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) is seeking a highly qualified candidate for the position of AID Development Assistance Specialist (Technical Writer) within the Water and Infrastructure (WRI) Office of the USAID Mission for West Bank & Gaza. The primary purpose of this position is to assist the WRI Office in the development and design of programs and projects in the West Bank and Gaza. This includes the preparation of a variety of Program or Activity Approval documents, preparation of portions of key USAID documents, development of Concept Papers and background analysis for new activities and provision of other related assistance to the Office and Team as assigned. This position is based in Tel Aviv and requires the ability to commute to the office on daily basis and might be required to work after hours at the direction of his/her supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS SOUGHT:
-A university degree in public or business administration, international development, economics, law or other social science fields from an internationally recognized university is required. Completion of one or more years of post-graduate study is highly desirable.
-At least five years of progressively responsible experience in development and management assistance, organizational management or related work in a non-governmental organization, international organization or the like is required. Prior work experience with a U.S. Government agency is highly desirable.
-Must have very strong English written skills and analytical capabilities, including the ability to write high-level creative, analytic and reporting documents. Must be able to prepare precise and accurate reports and to develop and present briefings.
-Strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to balance working well in a team environment with initiative, creativity, and independent ability to carry out responsibilities are also necessary.
-Must have native English level of fluency (spoken and written). Arabic and/or Hebrew is desirable.
-Must be flexible to work after hours if needed.
