Aid System Liaison
Aid Watch Palestine is a new initiative that aims to bring transparency and accountability to the international aid system in Palestine, with an initial focus on the Gaza aid and reconstruction process. We currently seek to hire a founding team of senior staff to build the initiative from ground up and ensure its impact and sustainability.

Note:
-Hiring and length of contracts depends on funding.
-This position will be a limited-time honoraria position contracted by Rosa Luxemburg Stiftung and will be extended pending funding.
JOB DESCRIPTION
The Aid System Liaison (Gaza-based) is a member of senior team and the main representative of Aid Watch Palestine in Gaza.
S/he will:
-Participate with other Aid Watch team members in conceptualizing and developing the initiative;
-Represent Aid Watch Palestine to all international and local actors in Gaza;
-Conduct formal and informal research to provide information and inform priorities for development of strategy and activities;
-Cultivate relationships with all aid actors (public, international, local, private sector, community) and take part in activities related to aid and reconstruction;
-Develop and implement community outreach mechanisms and procedures;
-Conduct community consultation on principles and strategy;
-Solicit content for knowledge outputs and manage Gaza-based research partnerships;
-Identify advocacy targets and allies;
-Identify educational materials needed, develop and distribute content;
-Write reports and other materials as needed for internal or external audiences; and
-Help supervise junior staff in Gaza.
The qualified candidate should be able to:
-represent the initiative with credibility;
-act strategically and diplomatically in highly politicized situations with a diverse range of actors;
-motivate a dispersed team of staff, volunteers and community members;
-manage with an egalitarian, team style;
-be a self-organized, efficient manager and implementer;
-mobilize and manage resources;
-put systems and policies into place where none exist;
-demonstrate independence, analysis and creativity in thinking and bravery in action;
-work on a high-risk initiative under stress;
-demonstrate deep knowledge about international aid in Palestine, including in Gaza and passion for aid reform;
-be constructive, critical, and oriented to a rights-based approach; and
-show exceptional communication skills in Arabic and English (spoken and written).
A Master’s Degree in a relevant field and significant experience leading social change efforts in Palestine are required; PhD and advocacy experience are preferred.
