Analyst

A civil society organization established in Jerusalem in 1998, working to eliminate all forms of violence against women and children through societal awareness-raising and providing counseling and psycho-social support to survivors of violence. Sawa networks with local and international partners and relies on a team of well-trained, experienced, and highly-professional employees and volunteers.

Sawa will contract an experienced data analyst to conduct a thorough assessment of all aspects of the
Helpline’s operation throughout the project. The analyst will deeply study the types of calls received, the
populations who tend to turn to the Helpline. The analyst will also assess the usefulness of the upgraded
Database system for case follow-up and as a means of informing future actions. The analyst will bear in
mind, at all times, the recent crises facing Palestinians, including the devastation wrought on Gazans by
this past spring’s Israeli aggressions, and the effects of the ongoing pandemic. This will allow the analyst
to make particular recommendations regarding how to respond to humanitarian issues in the future.

Key Qualifications of the Analyst

Applicants for the analyst role should have, ideally, the following qualifications:
-Proven previous experience in conducting research studies (minimum 5 years’ experience)
-Experience in data management
-Expertise in the field of gender-based violence and gender equality/ empowerment of women, girls,
children in general, and other marginalized groups
-Knowledge of communications technology and the use of database software
-In-depth knowledge of civil society co-operation, the social and humanitarian sector and development
cooperation
-Understanding of the cultural and political context in Palestine
-Excellent command of Arabic and English.
-Ability to meet short timelines with efficiency and professionalism
-Ability to think strategically
-Ability to work within a team
