Android Developer

Welfare Association (Taawon) is an independent non-profit organization established in 1983 by a group of Palestinian business and intellectual figures to provide development and humanitarian assistance to Palestinians in the West Bank including Jerusalem, the Gaza Strip, 1948 Areas, and the Palestinian communities in Lebanon.
The Old City of Jerusalem Revitalization Program (OCJRP) at Taawon is seeking to recruit an Android Developer who will be responsible for developing the next generation of our map mobile applications. The ideal candidate should have a passion for and knowledge of entertainment/ online gaming, digital map building, and the world of social media influencers. The candidate should also have a proven track record of mobile platform and application development experience on Android to support and fulfill the strategic objectives of a highly cross-functional organization. We are looking for someone who is passionate about building a great mobile software.

Your Responsibilities:

-Design and build advanced applications for the Android platform
-Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features
-Work with outside data sources and API’s
-Unit-test code for robustness, including edge cases, usability, and general reliability
-Work on bug fixing and improving application performance
-Continuously discover, evaluate, and implement new technologies to maximize development efficiency.

Experience & qualifications

-BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related subject
-5 years of software development experience
-3 years of Android development. Additional iOS and HTML5 experience an asset.
-Have published at least one original Android app (not university project)
-Experience with Android SDK
-Experience working with remote data via REST and JSON
-Experience with third-party libraries and APIs.
-Working knowledge of the general mobile landscape, architectures, trends, and emerging technologies
-Solid understanding of the full mobile development life cycle.
-Knowledge with map locations, kml Data, map, routers, and map general features
-Experience with UI/UX
-Knowledge in Video protocols like HLS/DASH
-Experience with different libraries, framework & animations.
-Experience solving challenges related to app performance, optimization, caching, security, and native hardware components
-Strong knowledge of client-server communication, RESTful web service consumption and response parsing (JSON and XML).
-Knowledge with map locations, kml Data, map, routers, and map general features
-Work easily with the social media integration

Contact Duration: 6 month
Working Hours: fixable (8 hours daily, 5 days)
Payment: Monthly
