Najjad Zeenni Information Technology Center of Excellence (NZITCE) invites applications
from individuals wishing to serve as Consultants for the Business Pre-incubation Centre at Birzeit University
About NZITCE
The Najjad Zeenni Information Technology Center of Excellence (NZITCE) was established in April 2008 at Birzeit University to fully leverage opportunities presented by information technology to achieve economic development.
The NZITCE is working to promote research and development, innovation, consulting services in information technology and upgrading the skills and capabilities of students, professionals and organizations.
About the Business Pre-incubation Centre at Birzeit University
The Business Pre-incubation Centre at Birzeit University, was established in cooperation with SPARK, a Dutch based non-profit institution founded in 1994, in order to create new business models from the ground up, through highly motivated young Palestinians, who are given the opportunity to grow and receive professional advice regarding their business model and growth plans and strategies.
The project establishes a university-based technology business pre-incubator that will help solve the challenge facing Palestinian policy makers of how to encourage and educate more graduates and individuals to consider self-employment as a career option, and as an alternative to the more traditional career patters of paid employment in the ICT sector.
Scope of work
The consultants will work alongside the expert trainers, and will function as mentors and local market experts for the trainees. They will each be assigned a group of trainees, in which they will be responsible for advising and counseling. The meetings will take place 3 times a week for a duration raging from 2-3 hours per session. The maximum number of actual hours will be 72 hours in total.
The Consultants are expected perform the following duties:
- Provide expert advice on the expected difficulties facing business startups in Palestine
-Support trainees in formulating a scientific and accurate decision making process
- Promote team work and collaboration among trainees
-Provide guidance and counseling for trainees in navigating various obstacle that stand in their way.
Qualifications
Successful candidates should meet most or all of the following qualifications:
- Excellent command of English language both written and oral.
- Hold at least a bachelor degree in either of the following fields : Business, Marketing, finance, Accounting, Economics, Law.
- No less than 5 years of proven professional experience in business development or a related field.
- Hold a senior managerial or supervisory position in a medium – large business.
