Assistant Director for NGO
The Centre for New Diplomacy (CFND) is a nonpartisan, nongovernmental organization that promotes and facilitates engagement between actors on all sides of the Middle East conflict. The centre encourages integrative leadership through firsthand, crossborder experiences in the Palestinian Authority, Israel, and Jordan.
CFND is currently searching for an Assistant Director. The Assistant Director will work closely with the organization’s Executive Director to build and promote the organization’s vision and mission. They will be responsible for overseeing much of the organization’s logistical operations, and will be involved in much of the organization’s daytoday happenings.
Applicants must carry a deep knowledge of Palestinian domestic politics and the Palestinian national psyche. An ideal candidate appreciates new and fresh approaches to the Middle East conflict, and is looking to invest and grow with the organization.
Responsibilities
-Relationship Building Cultivate relationships and partnerships with academic, civil society, and political leadership within the West Bank.
-Logistics Manage logistics for incoming international delegations and guests including facilitating meetings, transportation, etc in Israel and the West Bank.
-Program Implementation Implement programs in the West Bank and Israel, and assist the Executive Director in program planning.
-Communications Proactively outreach and communicate with relevant stakeholders within Palestinian society, maintaining a positive organizational brand and status.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
-Bachelor’s degree in political science or related field.
-Minimum of 3-5 years professional experience in nonprofit, government, international relations, conflict resolution, or other related field Additional Criteria
-Fluency in English, native fluency in Arabic, and basic spoken Hebrew.
-In depth understanding of the IsraeliPalestinian conflict
-Microsoft Word and Excel
-Good oral and written skills
-Social media skills (Facebook and Twitter) a plus
-Jerusalem residency preferred, or Israeli citizenship.
-Willingness to work evenings and weekends as the job may require.
-Holding current relationships with individuals in the Palestinian private and public sectors is a plus.
