Assistant Program Coordinator
Job Description
Secours Islamique France (SIF) is a Non-Governmental Organization of international solidarity based in France. Founded in 1991, SIF is a non-profit and non-political organization that intends to help, to bring relief and to protect the lives of those threatened by natural disasters, armed conflicts or by economic collapse. SIF is an Islamic Relief worldwide family member and intervenes in more than 30 countries around the world through operations of emergency aid, recovery and development. It is present in Asia, the Middle East, Africa and Europe. Our goal is to help people suffering everywhere in the world. SIF provides its help in the respect of the cultural diversity, without any distinction of origin, religion or sex.
Position: Assistant Program Coordinator, Full time (start date Jan.2012) Location: Ramallah Office, with frequent travel
Duration: 12 months (extendable)
SUMMARY :
The key responsibilities are to give a support to the good coordination, implementation of the projects as well as the identification of new projects. This position requires a highly motivated hardworking and responsible person.
QALIFICATIONS AND ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
-BA in social sciences, management of humanitarian projects, social work
-Minimum 4 years experience working with NGOs
-Demonstrated skills in project management
-Demonstrated experience in monitoring of projects
-Demonstrated experience in proposal writing for institutional funders
-Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines under pressure, and to complete work with high quality and attention to detail
-Good knowledge of the West Bank context
-High level computer skills: Microsoft Word, Email, Internet, Excel, Outlook
-Ability to undertake regular travel to program sites in West Bank
-Good knowledge of project monitoring tools
-Language skills (reading, writing, spoken) to working level in English and Arabic
-Demonstrated commitment to working as part of a team, in a support role
-Qualities: team spirit, patient, flexible, open minded, sociable
SPECIFIC TASKS :
-To assure a good internal follow-up of the projects in accordance with the cycle of project, logical framework, timeframe, reporting...
-To assure on time reporting on the projects to the Program Coordinator
-Prepare reports for the institutional funding
-To assist in completing the need assessment included in the strategy
-To attend the coordination meetings
-To perform any other duties requested by the supervisor.
-To be available to work overtime or at weekends when requested.
-Translation from Arabic to Englis
DESIRABLE for both positions:
-Language skills: French will be an asset
-Driving licence
-Master degree in management of humanitarian projects
