Call for consultancy services 

Within the framework of the project entitled “Promoting Olive Oil Production and Market Access for Small-Scale Olive Farmers” which is implemented by the Fair Trade Development Center (FTDC),Palestinian Farmers Union (PFU) and Oxfam GB to help Palestinian farmers to increase income through the upgrading of the Palestinian olive oil sector. FTDC - BethlehemUniversity is seeking qualified candidates to apply for the vacancy of Planning Consultant.

* Duration: 12 Months * Deadline: 10/2/2009

Duties and responsibilities:

1- Maintain close relationship with the board of directors in the partner olive oil cooperatives.
2- Lead board meetings in the partner olive oil cooperative to accumulate information.
3- Develop strategic plans for the partner olive oil cooperatives.
4- Advise, lead and supervise the development of annual and semiannual plans for the olive oil cooperatives.
5- Assure that the planning process will be a learning experience for the cooperative societies for their future planning.
6- Follow up implementation of sub plans (annual and semiannual) in relation to the strategic plan.

Qualifications:

• University degree in Business Administration or related fields, Master Degree is a plus.
• A minimum of 3 to 5 years of professional experience in Strategic Planning.
• Experience in the usage of computers and office software packages (MS Word, Excel, etc).
•  Excellent speaking and writing skills in English and Arabic.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.
• A good team player.
• A good learner.
• Familiar with the Palestinian olive oil cooperative environment.
• High organizational skills.
• High attention to details.
