Biomedical Engineer
Anera is a development assistance and humanitarian aid organization that has been working in the West Bank, Gaza, and Jerusalem since 1968. Anera is announcing a vacancy for a Biomedical Engineer for an anticipated five-year USAID-funded Gaza Health Recovery Activity (GHRA) Program. The position is full-time, based in Ramallah, and requires travel to the West Bank, Gaza, and East Jerusalem.

Project Description:
The Gaza Health Recovery Activity (GHRA) is a 5-year USAID project designed to address the critical healthcare needs arising from the ongoing conflict in Gaza. The primary goal of the project is to restore and enhance essential health services in the region amidst severe disruptions. This may include activities in various health sectors such as basic and emergency curative health services, primary health care (including obstetric services, mother and child health, communicable disease control, immunizations, supplementary feeding programs, non-communicable and chronic diseases), secondary health care, physical trauma and tertiary care, mental health, psycho-social support, and the rehabilitation sector. The GHRA Project is currently recruiting highly motivated professionals to fill the position of "Biomedical Engineer"
Job Summary:
- Collaborate with procurement staff to evaluate bids for medical and laboratory equipment, as well as disposables as needed.
- Participate in verifying the conformity of bids received, including the provision of requested tests, approvals, letters, reputation, and reliability.
- Follow up with project beneficiaries and vendors on equipment distribution.
- Inspect delivered equipment to ensure contract compliance regarding delivery time, specifications, source and origin rules, documentation, etc.
- Ensure proper installation and appropriate operational training conducted by suppliers.
- Monitor the timely utilization of the equipment.
- Maintain a log of all donated equipment according to project and donor needs.
- Conduct monitoring and follow-up visits to beneficiaries.

Qualifications:
- Minimum of a BA degree in biomedical engineering or related field.
- A minimum of four years of experience in both technical and sales aspects of medical equipment.
- Experience working on relevant projects, preferably those funded by USAID in the health sector.
- Strong knowledge of a wide range of medical equipment/supplies.
- Works well under pressure and is an excellent team player.
