Programme Description
The Palestinian Market Development Programme (PMDP) is funded by UK Department for International Development (DFID) and the European Union (EU) in-cooperation with the Ministry of National Economy and implemented by DAI Europe over a period of five years, with offices in Ramallah and Gaza. The programme has been designed to improve market systems and improve the competitiveness of the Palestinian private sector. PMDP aims to improve private sector competitiveness through technical assistance and matching grants. Additionally, PMDP will work on strengthening trade and investment linkages as well as linkages with the Palestinian Diaspora to play an active role in economic development in the oPTs.
We are currently recruiting for the following position:
Business Development Advisor
The Business Development Advisor, based in Ramallah, will work on the delivery of matching grants component and other targeted interventions to improve private sector skills, innovation and thus competitiveness. The Business Development Adviser will work with applicants and grantees to innovate their products/services and/or process to enter new markets and generates employment opportunities based on growth. The Business Development Advisor will work with colleagues of other advisors, grants team, finance team and other PMDP members to achieve the programme goals.
Key Skills and Qualifications:
-Degree in relevant subject: Business Administration, Economics, Engineering with Business Concentration. Holding a Master’s Degree is preferable.
-Six (6) plus years work experience, from which minimum three (3) years of work experience in business development and the private sector.
-Previous experience with donor funded economic growth projects in Palestine.
-Previous working experience in the private sector and private sector development.
-Knowledge of the SME market in the West Bank.
-Available driving license
-Ability to travel throughout WB.
