Business Development & Reporting Officer (4-2021)

Summary: The Business Development Officer (BDO) will support the projects’ teams (CARE and partner staff) working within Economic Empowerment Projects: mainly “My Economic Empowerment, Our Future - Duroob Project” and partially “Women & Youth Entrepreneurship – OBADER Project” OBADER Project, in addition to other economic empowerment projects as needed.  

The Business Development Officer will be providing targeted women & youth entrepreneurs in WB with business development and market oriented support and guidance in implementing their developed business and operational plans; providing them with regular mentoring and business plan guidance; follow up on all deliverables of the partners & relevant consultancy services in a way that achieves sustainability and  institutionalization of practices and promoting self-sustaining enterprises; oversee and guide the targeted enterprises operationalizing the developed business plans; supporting/supervising the development & capacity building components & coaching for the targeted enterprises; follow up on the implementation & operationalizing the business plans; support connecting enterprises with private sector; business development providers; drafting relevant agreements, exploring marketing channels; market linkages; support with products’ development; design, guide and actively contribute to promotion & marketing events to promote the products of the women enterprises/cooperatives; support exchange visits and marketing events, women agency building; etc. The BDO will also have a primary role in preparing and compiling donor’s reports in relation to the different project’s components in coordination with relevant team members and partner staff as needed, and will prepare/write work plans, monthly narrative updates, coordinate with the PM/ BDC & CARE’s compliance coordinator to develop due diligence and risk management reports, and contribute in the documentation of comprehensive initiatives’ reports, field reports and other reports as required.

Job Requirements

Bachelors in Business Administration or a related field, 5 years prior experience in business development and women/youth empowerment projects in the NGO sector. Experience in marketing, business planning, pricing analysis, business coaching, and or micro/small business. (Entrepreneurs/CBOs/ MSMEs). Working in the development sector with special emphasis on socio-economic empowerment issues with evidence, scalability and sustainability. Demonstrated knowledge of gender mainstreaming. Proven track record working collaboratively with communities, local NGO partners, MSMES and government officials. Excellent command of Arabic & English (verbal and written). Strong team play and collaboration skills. Effective negotiation and representation skills.
