Programme Description

The Palestinian Market Development Programme (PMDP) is a five years economic development program funded by UK Department for International Development (DFID) and the European Union (EU) in-cooperation with the Ministry of National Economy and implemented by DAI Europe, with offices in Ramallah and Gaza. The programme has been designed to improve market systems and improve the competitiveness of the Palestinian private sector. PMDP works on strengthening trade and investment linkages as well as linkages with the Palestinian Diaspora to play an active role in the development of the Palestinian economy.

PMDP aims to improve private sector competitiveness through technical assistance and matching grants. Additionally, PMDP works on strengthening trade and investment linkages as well as enhancing the business and enabling environment in the oPt.

We are currently Recruiting for the following positions:

Business and Investment Enabling Environment Advisor - Ramallah Office
The Business Enabling Environment Advisor will work closely to support the upgrading of the trade and investment climate and business enabling environment in oPt through identifying gaps at an early stage of  the action, and subsequently facilitating the process of addressing these gaps.

Key Skills & Qualification

-Bachelor degree in Law, Master degree is preferable.
-A minimum of 10 years of professional related work experience.
-Demonstrate experience in working on business enabling environment issues.
-Strong knowledge of the Palestinian economy
-Strong knowledge of the Private-Public deluge (PPD)
-Experience in building relationships with numerous organizations including governments, NGO's, and private enterprises.
-Understanding of key local and international trade and investment development issues.
-Ability to deliver results and able to manage partnerships and maintain working relationships across various organizations and initiatives.
-Strong research and analytical skills with  ability to give advice to complex business propositions
-Excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills, and complete attention to detail
-Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
-Fluency in Arabic and English (both written and oral)
-Ability to work within a team.
