Initiated by a group of Palestinian women activists, the Psychosocial Counseling Center for Women (PSCCW), was officially established in Bethlehem in 1997. The Center’s purposes include- but are not limited to- providing the necessary psychosocial support, legal protection and community integration for female survivors who are exposed to different forms of social and political violence. In what follows, the center’s goal also focuses on raising public awareness concerning issues and concepts related to gender, women’s rights and gender-based violence in accordance with international and national human rights instruments and laws. These aims serve to build and secure a safe environment free from any form of gender-based abuse and violence against women. In addition, the center seeks to unify public knowledge of women’s needs while offering them comprehensive and holistic services.

Project Overview: The Land Research Center (LRC) in partnership with PSCCW implements the project, with the Saint Eve Foundation as a third partner. The project is funded by the European Union.

The project implementation period spans 30 months from 2023 to 2025. During this timeframe, efforts will be directed towards achieving the overall project objective, which is to enhance the role of the Palestinian civil society in promoting and protecting human rights, fundamental freedoms, democracy, and the rule of law. Additionally, the project aims to support Palestinian human rights defenders and grassroots community organizations in combating all forms of violations against economic rights, with a focus on the role of women in the targeted communities in the governorates of Hebron and Bethlehem.

In the context of implementing the project activities, PSCCW is willing to hire a Case Manager.

Scope of Work:

  • Assume case manager responsibility as part of providing case management and mental health and psychosocial services to women, youth and PwD who suffer from psychological distress due to the Israeli violations of their HLP.
  • Perform initial assessments of referred clients and communicate results to related PSCCW staff .
  • Coordinate the development of the individual intervention plan for each client with PSCCW team.
  • Assist in the development of list/network of CBOs and other providers of services relevant to clients needs.
  • Link, coordinate, and monitor the implementation of the intervention plan with PSCCW team.
  • Monitor, document and evaluate client progress throughout the intervention plan.
  • Repeat comprehensive assessment for each beneficiary periodically.
  • Participate in weekly supervision and coordination with PSCCW staff.
  • Submit weekly reports of activities and client outcomes to PSCCW.

Deliverables:

  • Monthly reports of all activities and client outcomes (e.g. functioning, symptoms, well-being) and client feedback (e.g. satisfaction with services)
  • List/network of CBOs providing services to individuals who suffer from psychological distress due to the Israeli violations of their HLP.
  • Facilitation of client service provision.

Job Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor degree in Social Work, additional diploma or master degree in mental health is preferred.
  • At least 2 years of progressive experience in working with individuals suffering from psychological distress.
  • Excellent technical skills & knowledge.
  • Experience in teaching or training.
  • Excellent knowledge of & connection to community organizations.
  • Professionalism and very good communication and presentation skills.
  • Excellent skills in building and maintaining relationships.
  • Good English skills
  • High motivation to learn.
  • Strong commitment to serving individuals who suffer from psychological distress.
