Education Development Center (EDC) is a leader in international programs and research. Established in 1958, EDC designs, delivers and evaluates innovative programs to address some of the world’s most urgent challenges in education, health, and economic opportunity.
EDC expects to have an increasing presence in the West Bank/East Jerusalem region and is looking for exceptionally qualified and committed individuals with the below qualifications.

staff needs in projects in Middle East, particularly, at this time, in Palestine.

Chief of Party
Chief of Party (EDC) will have overall responsibility for leading and managing the project and will
oversee its administrative, programmatic, and operational implementation in West Bank. She/he will supervise the work and provide guidance to the project field office personnel, sharing her/his expertise in school rehabilitation, community engagement, and teacher training. The COP will represent EDC and the project in the West Bank, interfacing with the stakeholder Ministry officials and other government leaders and USAID. She/he will demonstrate excellent management, technical, and leadership skills as well as a high level of diplomacy and will be able to foster an atmosphere of teamwork, productivity,creativity, fairness, equity, and innovation within the project. She/he will be an effective negotiator and mediator, and will be able to facilitate consensus. She/he will be responsible for oversight and compliance of the project’s fiscal and operational procedures, and making sure that necessary USAID and host country directives are implemented and proper policies and procedures are enforced.
Qualifications:
-Advanced degree in education or a related field;
-Previous Chief or Deputy Chief of Party experience for basic education projects;
-Extensive supervisory/project management, with preference for USAID experience
and Palestine experience;
-A record of effective project leadership and management;
-Strong organizational, communication, computer, and interpersonal skills.
