Chief of Party
Chemonics International, a leading international organization based in Washington, D.C., seeks a Chief of Party for the anticipated USAID-funded early grade reading activity in the West Bank. The project is expected to enhance learning outcomes for Palestinian children at the primary level by improving Arabic reading instruction, policies and practices at the government, community and school levels. The chief of party will be responsible for the overall management and implementation of the project and take a leadership role in coordination among USAID and key stakeholders, and other implementing partners. The chief of party will also interact with numerous Ministry of Education and Higher Education officials. We are looking for individuals who have a passion for making a difference in the lives of people around the world.
Qualifications:
-Master’s or PH.D. level degree in education, social sciences, or a relevant field to education programs from an accredited university
-Minimum 10 years of experience in managing and implementing education reform programs in developing countries, preferably in the implementation of a national scale-up activities
-High level of interpersonal, technical, and analytical skills, including an ability to interact effectively and collaboratively with a broad range of public sector counterparts, donors, and other key stakeholder
-Outstanding strategic and managerial skills. Experience in education policy reform, teacher proficiently development, education program monitoring, valuation and learning.
-Strong communication and interpersonal skills
-Demonstrated leadership, versatility, and integrity
-English and Arabic fluency required
-Previous experience in the West Bank is highly desired
