Child Friendly Spaces (CFS)-Staff Training Consultant

The CRS JWBG country program currently supports development/relief programs and activities in the sectors of civil society, humanitarian assistance, youth empowerment, education, and peace & justice. Scope of Work:

CRS is seeking to hire a consultant to assist CRS-JWBG staff, partners, and volunteers to start implementation of Child Friendly Spaces (CFSs) in response to the trauma incurred by military escalation during Operation Protective Edge in 2014. Catholic Relief Services (CRS) seeks one lead consultant and 3 supporting trainers to design and lead CFS curriculum development and training.
Under this consultancy, the consultancy team will work on:

A-Designing and articulating the CFS detailed activity curriculum based on CFS intensive learning objectives. The curriculum contents are expected to cover detailed plan of the CFS activities; the sequence of sessions, detailed description of session’s objectives, opening, body, and closing exercises for children groups, and the logistical needs, facilitation tips, and animation instructions to be followed by the animator. It is expected to have groups of 20 children attending 16 to 20 sessions over a period of 2 months. Activities must consider the different needs of boys and girls and children from different age groups.

B-Preparing the CFS training material and facilitate training sessions of CFS staff and animators (100 interns). The training material should contain the theoretical and reading material on each topic of the training. The material should serve as reference for animators and field staff and should cover the CFS Gaza activity curriculum, primary definitions, case studies of context relevant situations, and the legal/right-based aspects of child protection whenever needed.
C-Conducting 15 two-hour site visits to CFS partners to ensure technical quality of the field work, following the formal training.

Needed qualifications of CFS consultant and trainers
The consultancy team has to demonstrate at least:

A-The lead person
-Holds a diploma or university degree
-Has to possess previous knowledge and proven experience on curriculum development.
-Come from working with children background with a minimum of seven year work experience. Preferably with education, psychology or social work background.
-Proven training skills; communication, time management, and training techniques
-Arabic Proficiency and working knowledge of English language

B-Support trainers

-Hold diploma or university degree.
-Possess a minimum of three years of recent experience in working with children fields such as psychology, protection, education, etc. regardless of graduate certificates.
-Proven training skills; communication, time management, and training techniques
-Arabic Proficiency and working knowledge of English language

Please also note that:
-Trainers have to devote the required time to the training and curriculum development assignments.
-They must be open to working with other trainer/s, CRS staff, and partners in a participatory manner.

-Applications will be accepted from groups (consultancy firms or teams of individuals) or individuals wishing to fulfill the role of the lead consultant or the role of supporting trainer.
-Interested lead persons can either agree with a team of 3 trainers to submit one proposal (preferable) or can submit a sole proposal for leading the assignment. In group submission, the group must identify the lead person.
-Interested trainers can submit their individual proposal. In such case, the supporting trainer is expected to define his/her role and the one topic s/he is proposing to facilitate.
-Submit a technical application that includes 1) Summary of relevant previous experience of the lead consultant and his/her team members, or in case of individual submission, the experience of the applicant trainer 2) CV of lead consultant and support trainers, 3) A sample of previously done piece of work in relevant topic; training, curriculum, or plans, and 4) a clarification letter of availability and suggested duration/timing of engagement if the applicant cannot accommodate to the proposed timeline mention in this TOR.
-Submit a financial proposal. Prices should be in New Israeli Shekels and must be valid up till 90 days after the submission date. The financial proposal has to identify the daily rate and the total cost and should respect the maximum limit mention in this TOR. Please also clarify the estimation cost of submitting English version of the activity curriculum.
