Child Protection Program Officer - Position#: (CPPO/WB/2014)


Main Responsibilities:

Work in close relation with the Child Development Program Manager and project partners to develop project plans, financial plans and monthly strategies and synergies.
Liaise with each implementing partners and coordinate project activities to ensure that the activities in each results area are implemented in accordance with the project proposal and agreement.
Ensure that the different components are integrated and that inputs from as wide a cross section as possible are incorporated to facilitate successful implementation of the program.
Provide technical input into project implementation and supervision of the project.
Develop and maintain close relationships with partners in the project through continuous updates, support and participation in SC meetings;
Monitor project implementation against the established indicators detailed in the projects Logical Framework and implementation plans.
Liaise with implementing partners to ensure the timely submission of project reports and that co-financing contributions are provided as agreed in the project documents.
Conduct field visits as required to verify project activities relative to stated targets.
Ensure proper, professional, documented and clear communication with project partners regarding all aspects of the project activities.
Participate and contribute to the organization of training and awareness sessions.
Assist the Child Development Program Manager in preparing monitoring reports (technical and financial) for submission to multiple donors according to timelines agreed upon and procedures.
Assist the Child Development Program Manager to facilitate troubleshooting options with the partners to remove any obstacle that might arise during project implementation.
Assist Child Development Program Manager in managing the day-to-day operations of the projects, including the keeping of financial and other records to facilitate audits.
Coordinate with the responsible accounting and administrative staff for the issuance of invoices, monthly wages, and quotations for project’s procurement.
Monitor the procurement of goods and services for the project and ensure execution according to the rules and guidelines established by relevant donors.
Plan and coordinate activities with the implementing partners for project visibility according to the guidelines of the multiple donors and Save the Children
Assist the Child Development Program Manager to facilitate project evaluation exercises.
Prepare the minutes of the meetings with the project partners and donor;
Submit reports and quarterly reports on the project progress and those required by partners, donor and ensure delivery before the deadline to the Child Development Program Manager.
Ensure that communication with partners on all aspects of project activities is adequate, clear, professional and documented;
Facilitate assessment and monitoring missions in coordination with the Child Development Program Manager, and where necessary, provide professional advice to project partners;
Ensure adequate filing for the entire project documentation;
Ensure that reports of activities and materials to be delivered are sent on time, as required by specific dates and deadlines, communicating them in advance to the staff in charge;
Maintain and update the schedule of events and deadlines to be notified on time to the staff involved.
Provide support and input into related advocacy work
Support the development of communication and visibility materials, coordinating with the partners and liaising with the Communication Officer
Support the development of community-specific advocacy strategies, together with the Child Development Program Manager.
Ensure that all donor branding and visibility requirements are fulfilled
Provide training on Animate it technique, whenever requested.
Ready to work to respond to any natural disaster or emergency situation anywhere in oPt.

Qualifications and Experience:
University degree in Psychology, Human Rights/Social Science,  international law, International development or a related field
At least 5 years experience in project management with youth and children.
Relevant experience and understanding of working in partnerships with national organizations, local communities, as well as sensitivity to cultural norms
Prior experience working in and in-depth knowledge of Child Protection programs is required.
Relevant experience in managing multi donors’ projects, and familiarity with EC and ECHO regulations and procedures mainly.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to manage a complex and diverse workload and to work to tight deadlines.
Ability to contribute to a small, proactive team, motivating staff and working collaboratively with colleagues and providing support and advice as necessary.
A full appreciation of the value of co-operation, both internationally and within a team environment.
Understanding of Save the Children’s vision and mission and a commitment to its objectives and commitment to Save the Children values
Written and verbal fluency in  English and Arabic
Computer literacy in Microsoft Office software including Word and Excel as well as email/internet

Desired:
Experience and understanding of rights-based programming and approaches to development
Experience with communications and advocacy work a plus
Experience work developing and leading participatory training sessions
