Vacancy: Child Rights Monitoring Fieldworker Supervisor
A leading national non-governmental organization is seeking to fill the position of Fieldworker Supervisor for its Child Rights Monitoring and Documentation Unit, based at its main office in Ramallah. Successful candidates will fulfil the following criteria:
1-University degree and/or proven professional experience in the field of human rights and
international humanitarian law. (Candidate must be able to use and advise on IHL terminology)
2- Excellent written and spoken English and Arabic
3- Displays creativity, motivation, initiative, a problem-solving attitude and is a self-learner
with good organisational skills
4-Excellent computer skills.
5- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
6- Works well under pressure, with minimal supervision and in a team
7-Ability to work in an intercultural environment.
8-At least 5 years professional experience in human rights monitoring
9- Proven professional experience in managing teams and supervising staff Experience in child rights an asset
Main responsibilities
a-Monitoring the status of Palestinian child rights in the context of the occupation and the
armed conflict.
b-Supervising daily work of fieldworkers, including monitoring visits to the fieldÆ
c- Assisting fieldworkers in drafting work plans
d- Monitoring work plans
e- Assigning daily tasks to fieldworkers and coordinating work among them
f-Reviewing documentation collected for further verification
g- Assisting fieldworkers in overcoming work-related obstacles
h- Building fieldworkers‘ capacity
i- Setting and ensuring adherence to new work mechanisms and practices
j-Follow up on fieldworkers‘ documentation equipment needs
k- Follow up on 2008 fieldworkers‘ training and set action plan for further capacity-building
l- Liaising and coordinating with other DCI programme teams; including regular coordination with and reporting to Unit Coordinator.
m- Liaising with other child rights monitoring actors
n- Assisting the Child Rights Monitoring and Documentation Unit Coordinator in further
relevant tasks, as requested, including:
1- Assisting in further enhancing DCI child rights violations database
