Civil Engineer

International Management Group (IMG) is an intergovernmental organisation working for EU in
the oPt with offices in Jerusalem, Ramallah and Gaza.
IMG is soliciting applications for the position of Project officer civil engineer and looking
for a dynamic, highly organised professional civil engineer with excellent interpersonal and
communication skills for one (1) year with possible extension. Duty station in Ramallah.

Main Tasks:
Under the direct supervision of the Programme Manager, the Engineer will perform the following
duties:
- Monitor implementation of projects in the West Bank (including report writing).
- Assist the project manager in different engineering, and procurement activities: Project assessment, identification, technical appraisal, technical validation of project designs, technical
specifications, bills of quantity, preparing of project proposals and work plans; preparation of tender dossier according to EU/FIDEC procedures.
- Assist the project manager in the validation of all field-based activities including the verification
of data before registering in respective databases.

Required Qualifications:
- University degree, minimum BSc in civil engineering.
- At least 4 years of relevant working experience in the construction sector (e.g. public buildings and
commercial buildings), supervisor, contractor representative. Monitoring experience is an asset.
- Knowledge of FIDIC procurement procedure; knowledge of EU PRAG an asset.
- Good command of written and spoken English and Arabic.
- Holder of driving licence B category.
- Excellent computer skills, in particular AutoCAD, Word and Excel, e-mail writing and Internet
proficiency.
- Reliability, initiative, thoroughness and attention to detail.
- Ability to maintain effective working relationships with all project stakeholders.
Weekly working hours: from Monday to Thursday 8.30 am to 4.30 pm, and Saturday from 8.30 am
to 2.00 pm. Visits to project sites in the West Bank.
