Civil Engineer consultant

Catholic Relief Services is an international aid agency and has been present in the Jerusalem, West Bank, and Gaza since 1961. The CRS JWBG country program currently supports development/relief programs and activities in the sectors of humanitarian assistance, youth development, education, and peace & justice.

1-Scope of Work
CRS is seeking an external Civil Engineer consultant to work with CRS Cash for Work project team in Gaza for a period of 3 months to support the implementation of minor rehabilitation activities in selected worksites in different Gaza regions, under CRS cash for work activities.

The consultant will be responsible for the following duties:
-Conducting needs assessment for each work site.
-Preparing bills of quantities and technical specifications for the needed materials and tools for each work site.
-Following up and evaluating Bidding Documents.
-Preparing workshop and as built drawings.
-Supervising the implementation of the works on the project sites, keeping records of all project
documents, and preparing daily and monthly reports on the project progress.
-Tracking time schedule and the execution of the implementation plan of each site.
-Participate in the Final Inspection Committee and the Handover of the constructed sites.
-Review the quality assurance, safety and health plans adhering to the Project specified requirements.

2-Minimum qualification

-Bachelors of Science degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university.
-Being Registered to Engineers syndicate.
-At least 5 years experience working on small & large scale Civil Engineering Construction projects .Past Experience in rehabilitation activities and cash for work projects is preferred.
-Fluency in English Language, Arabic Language skills is required
-Interpersonal and communication skills, Technical reports writing skills, Working knowledge of
engineering and MS office applications, Ability to works in team and under pressure.
