Civil Society Expert

FHI 360 seeks candidates for the following role in anticipation of a five-year, USAID-funded West Bank/Gaza Civil Society Support project. The project may focus on: civil society capacity strengthening; increasing civic engagement in public sector decision-making; developing tools for measuring government accountability and transparency; and collaboration among civil society, government, and media actors. It is expected that all roles will be located in Ramallah, West Bank, with anticipated project-funded travel throughout the country.

Civil Society Expert- The Civil Society Expert shall work under the leadership of the Chief of Party and will be responsible for leading technical activities focused on civil society capacity strengthening, increasing civic engagement in public sector decision-making, developing tools for measuring government accountability, and transparency, and collaboration among civil society, government, and media actors. The Expert will work to enhance the implementation of transparency and accountability initiatives and ensure that civil society and watchdog organizations are empowered to better participate and form effective coalitions.

S/he must have at least five years of experience in strengthening and engaging civil society actors in the West Bank and/or Gaza.  A Master’s degree is required and fluent spoken and written English is required.
