Office Custodian/Cleaner - عامل/ة نظافة
Chemonics International seeks an experienced Office Custodian/Cleaner for a newly awarded, USAID-funded project promoting economic growth in the West Bank and Gaza through expanded economic development, trade, commerce, and applied research. The five-year project has four main objectives: (1) Facilitate Cooperative Exchange and Knowledge Sharing, (2) Foster New Markets, (3) Strengthen Palestinian Enterprises, (4) Promote Investment and Access to Finance.

The Office Custodian/Cleaner is responsible for keeping the office space in tidy and clean condition, also will perform routine inspections to check that spaces like meeting room, kitchen and restrooms are always sanitary. He/she will be expected to prioritize tasks and complete them in an efficient, in timely manner and to the highest standards of health and safety.
Specific responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
- Maintain office premises cleanliness (vacuum dust, mopping various types of floors, clean bathrooms, kitchen, and offices).
- Dusting, ceilings, light fittings, countertops, and loose Scrubbing and sanitizing toilets, sinks, and kitchen appliances
- Wash dishes and maintain clean kitchen area.
- Maintain the meeting rooms always clean and ready before and after any use.
- Assist in setting up conference room for meetings.
- Emptying/remove trash cans on daily basis from the office premises to ensure a safe work environment for employees.
- Washing and drying windows.
- Prepare kitchen and cleaning list of any deficiencies and report accordingly to supervisor to make sure to always have sufficient supplies.
- Reporting of occurring deficiencies or any equipment and furniture that need repair.
- Refilling supplies, such as toilet paper and paper towels.
- Able to handle cleaning chemicals safely
- Serving hospitality to the project’s business visitors only
- Assisting in lifting and moving equipment, furniture, boxes, materials, etc. where required.
- Follow all health and safety regulations

Basic qualifications include:
- High school diploma or equivalent is advantageous.
- 1-3 years’ relevant experience; previous experience working for -International NGO’s is preferred.
- Proven experience in a similar role.
- Able to safely use a variety of cleaning products and equipment.
- Basic English Language skills
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Able to complete tasks on time with minimal supervision.
- Available to work mornings and evenings, plus weekends, as needed.
