Background:
UNDP PAPP is dependent on the current web applications to perform its operations within the region. The web applications are based on Adobe ColdFusion architecture.
UNDP PAPP ever increasing need towards automating more functions over the web so as to facilitate access to these applications from sub offices, and the need to maintain centralized databases of PAPP operation and program data as an essential integral for keeping data safe and accessible. This need increased the demand on the ICT Unit to provide more web based solutions.

description of Responsibilities:
Under the direct supervision of the ICT Support Associate the developer will be required to perform the following tasks:
1-Undertake a review of UNDP PAPP current web applications and introduce a plan to upgrade the system from ColdFusion Version 6.0 to Version 9.0.
2-Develop new application upon 3 tiers model: User Services, Business Services and Data Services.
3-Maintain the following four phases for each web application project
a-Envisioning the nature and direction of the project
b-Devising the plan
c-Development
d-Testing, support and stability
4-Train ICT staff on the new features provided by Adobe ColdFusion Version 9.0 and assist in integrating these features within the current applications.
5-Properly full document all source code.
6-Upgrade the current old data sources from MS access to MS SQL server 2008.

Deliverables
1-Web based applications upgrade plan, including the time schedule requested for implementation.
2-Full documentation of newly developed web applications.
3-Bi-Weekly report to the ICT Unit on the progress phase of the web applications projects.
4-Training to clients on the use of the web applications.

Qualifications :
Education: University degree in computer science or any other relevant field.
Experience:
-At least 3 years work experience in web development in ColdFusion version 6,7,8 and above.
-In-depth knowledge and understanding of the ICT.
-Experience in development of the technical specifications of various information systems.
-Excellent knowledge of the web design models and phases.
-Knowledge in MS SQL server management (preferably).
