Communication and Information Officer
Working in the Communication Department in Ramallah and reporting to the Head of Ramallah subdelegation.
Main duties:
-Interaction with Palestinian audiences in the districts of Ramallah, Jericho and Tubas.
-Explanation of ICRC mandate and basic principles of International humanitarian law would constitute the main objective of the information sessions
-Environment scanning and Media monitoring
Qualification required:
-BA degree in Communication & Media, Business administration, Law, English or similar fields
-2 years work experience in a similar field
-Ability to work independently and in a team
-Good communication and writing skills
-Good command of written and spoken English
-Good analytical skills
-Good computer skills
-Valid driving Licence
-Good knowledge of the geographically assigned environment.
General Duties & Responsibilities:
-Assists the delegate in running the Communication/Information and dissemination activities
-Contributes to the implementation and running of communication programmes
-Maintains contacts with authorities at district and municipal level, with local Red Cross branches, civil society, media, etc. under minimum supervision.
-Participates in meetings and interprets whenever required.
-Translate documents from Arabic into English ( or vice versa )
-Prepares reports and statistics on activities

Type of contract : Unlimited
Starting date : 15 February 2011
