Job Description
American Near East Refugee Aid (ANERA), a Development Assistance and Humanitarian Aid Organization working in Palestine since 1968, is announcing to fill the following two positions under the Emergency Water and Sanitation and Other Infrastructure Program (EWAS II) funded by the United States Agency for Development (USAID).
The anticipated employment duration for the positions listed below is three years and both are based in ANERA’s Jerusalem Office.

Communication and Public Relations Officer
Responsibilities:
General Duties:
-Develops a comprehensive communications strategy for the project with USAID, line ministries and local communities
-Develops a plan for dissemination, and works with, information outlets such as media organizations
-Develops communications program to support all project components and integrates communications activities into annual work plans
-Designs and implements communications campaigns to support specific project components and/or partner agencies programs
-Maintains primary contact with the media and communications production houses; organizes press conferences, workshops for media representatives, and media events in conjunction with project beneficiaries
-Oversees audience research & knowledge, attitude & practice studies
Specific Duties:
-Creative development, writing and distribution of Emergency Water and Sanitation (EWAS) and Other Infrastructure Program’s accomplishments
-Prepares case studies on selected projects to be used for demonstrating successes and lessons learned
Other Duties:
-Participates in development of annual work plans
-Participates in development of the communication, marking and branding plan
-Completes any other tasks as assigned by the Chief of Party
Educational Background and Work Experience Requirements:
Essential:
-Fluency in English language, English Mother tongue is preferable
-University degree in a relevant field of study
-Minimum 4 -5 years working experience preferably with USAID-funded projects
-Demonstrated previous experience in project planning, reporting and public relations preferably within an NGO structure
-Ability to work independently with minimal guidance as well as within team
-Strong organizational, communication and writing skills. Ability to handle multi-task activities, work under pressure and keep deadlines
-Full knowledge in Computer programs especially proficient in Microsoft Windows package including PowerPoint
-Possession of a driver’s license
Desired:
-Demonstrated ability and interest in photography
-Ability to use Adobe In Design, Photoshop, Illustrator and Light Room
