Communication & Media Officer
General Objective:
The Communication & Media Officer will play a key role in the Action Against Hunger Palestine Mission, supporting the execution of ACF's communication strategies throughout its operational areas. The role involves developing strategic advocacy materials and communication content that enhance the overall effectiveness of Action Against Hunger's programs. The officer will be instrumental in driving the implementation of these strategies to ensure successful outcomes.
Objective 1: Responsible for Communication and Advocacy activities:
- Support with the implementation of the ACF communication strategy in coordination with the HoB and Advocacy Coordinator.
- Support with Social Media planning, including designing and developing content, and tracking impact.
- Support the HoB in regular communication and involvement between ACF and main partners and external stakeholders.
- Contribute to the preparation of ACF advocacy communication materials (Factsheets, newsletters, social media posts, audiovisual) highlighting ACF work relevant for any obligations and opportunities (e.g., projects requirements, international days) including for fundraising purposes.
- Responsible for monitoring and contributing to advocacy and communications deliverables within projects implemented in the West Bank. Strong collaboration with the MEAL team for enhancing evidence-based advocacy.
- Provide strong support to the field teams to implement the new ways of working of the organizations by consolidating the linkage between advocacy and operations department.
- Ensure the coherent contribution of the base advocacy & communication activities to the mission and global advocacy initiatives of the Action Network Against Hunger.
- Responsible for maintaining the advocacy and communications filing system for the Hebron Base by gathering photos, consent, testimonies, and sharing with ACF network.
- Support with the management of consultants for advocacy and communication activities.
- Support Advocacy Coordinator with advocacy and media content highlighting the situation and our interventions in Gaza.
Objective 2: Stakeholders Interaction
Tasks - Hebron:
- Support the HoB in facilitating diplomatic and donors’ visits and prepare relevant documents.
- Attend external meetings or projects related community meetings upon HoB request.
- Provide talking points and key messages to the HoB and Project Staff for key advocacy events and meetings.
- Regular updating of the contacts database.
- Tracking of advocacy activities and their impact.
Objective 3: Other Duties
Tasks - Hebron:
- Provide regular updates to Head of Base to inform appropriate decision-making processes.
- Prepare a weekly plan to the Head of Base.
- Prepare quarterly advocacy reports on implementation of the strategy.
- Inform logistics of any security problem encountered in the implementation of the advocacy activities.
- Attend local meetings or project related community meetings.

- Bachelor’s degree in journalism, media, communication, multimedia, social studies, international relations or any related field Master’s degree is preferable.
- Excellent analytical skills and the capability to work in a precise, structured and detailed manner.
- Must have strong drafting and verbal communications skills; research and analytical skills; ability to manage competing deadlines and priorities.
- Reporting and storytelling skills.
- Must have a strong knowledge of filmmaking, photography, and editing.
- Must have a strong knowledge of the information management, design of questionnaires.
- Knowledge of Social Media planning and monitoring.
- Minimum 3 years’ relevant professional experience in communication and media.
- Experience in working with international development agencies in oPt context.
- Experience in working with Local Governmental Units (village councils and municipalities).
- Minimum 1 year of experience working in humanitarian and/or development aid.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including training, interviewing, capacity building and presentation skills.
- Solid understanding of the political and humanitarian context of the oPt.
- Valid driving license and proven driving skills.
- Fluency in reading, writing and speaking both Arabic and English.
- Word, Excel, PowerPoint and outlook. Adobe Premiere, Davinci Resolve, or any other editing tools. Knowledge of InDesign or other design tools an asset.
