Caritas Jerusalem (CJ) is a humanitarian and development organization that represents the socio-pastoral services of the Catholic Church in the Holy Land. It was founded in 1967 in the aftermath of the Six-Day War, Caritas Jerusalem has beneficiaries from all religious backgrounds in the Occupied Palestinian Territories. Caritas Jerusalem is seeking a highly qualified candidate for the following position:
Position Title: Communication Officer
Reports to: Fund Raising and Compliance Manager
Status: Full time
Contract Period: 12 months, with the possibility of extension(s).
Location: Jerusalem with Frequent visits to WB & Gaza
Starting date: ASAP
Main Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Publish a variety of digital content with a focus on producing engaging web pages that are visually appealing to visitors. Manage all posting to ensure content is on brand.
- With the direction of the Fundraising and Compliance manager, manage digital execution across email, website, and social media of fundraising and engagement campaigns throughout the year.
- Develop with the Fundraising manager and execute social media strategy across channels as the primary drivers of Caritas Jerusalem’s messages, appeals, and website traffic and critical platforms for building brand and issue awareness.
- Develop and execute social media campaigns for key days, themes, and priority upcoming content.
- Create content for social media accounts and post regularly on each account.
- Manage social ad campaigns and other promotional materials.
- Publishes Caritas Jerusalem’s newsletter by gathering information; preparing and editing articles; designing graphic presentations, producing, and distributing.
- Promote new content, key pages, and calls to action across channels. Position content to target different segments and to fit the format and publishing requirements of each platform.
- Seek regular opportunities for the Board and General Secretary to engage with major foundations, corporate donors, and other organizations on social media and curate up-to-date lists of key accounts.
- Contribute to overall digital content strategy and inform the calendar of upcoming topics, news, milestones, and external opportunities to guide content planning.
- Coordinate and support communications projects, outreach, and products as needed.
- Create and update marketing materials and documents in support of fundraising, donor stewardship, and programs.
- Maintain internal calendar and assist Secretary General and Fundraising Manager with internal communications.

Job Requirements
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Media, Journalism, or any other related field.
- Experienced in travel logistics, scheduling, informing others, presentation skills, self-confidence, meeting management, client relationships, written communication, promoting Process Improvement, decision-making, and administrative writing skills.
- Proficient in MS Office and “back-office” software (e.g., ERP).
- Arabic & English Fluency.
- At least 3-5 years of work experience in the field.
- Very strong writing, proofreading, and copy-editing skills.
- Ability to take direction, learn quickly and take the initiative.
- Team oriented with excellent interpersonal skills with Integrity and confidentiality.
- Creative, detail-oriented, highly organized, and with excellent time management skills.
- The ability to work well under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
- Willingness to make a long-term commitment to the position.
- Commitment to CJ Code of Conduct and Safeguarding ethics and policies.
- Adhere to Caritas Jerusalem’s mission and core values.
- Ability to Drive in Jerusalem.
