The Institute for Community Partnership is seeking candidate for the following position as part of
the project “From Grove to Market –Making the olive market work for subsistence and small-scale
farmers in the occupied Palestinian territories” funded by the Swiss Agency for Development and
cooperation, SDC.

Position Title: Communications & Advocacy Officer
Duration of Assignment: 12 months (Renewable)

Position Description:
Reporting directly to the ICP director, the incumbent supports the development of proactive and effective communications. The incumbent drafts website updates, news releases, news bulletins, brochures and other written materials. The incumbent assists in the promotion of the organization’s brand identity and public image.

Main tasks and responsibilities:
1-Support communications objectives and help set communications plans.
2-Compose, edit, design and produce publications such as newsletters and correspondence.
3-Write news releases, speeches, articles, and prepare PowerPoint presentations.
4-Edit and organize the publication of documents.
5-Assist with the website content, update and with communications audit.
6-Assist with various special projects as requested to ensure the department operates effectively
7-Help design and implement advocacy campaigns that inspire people to take action on issues that
affect them.
8-Manage presence in social networking sites including Facebook, Twitter, and similar community
sites, posting on relevant blogs, and seeding content into social media applications as needed.
9-Assist in writing project proposals.
10-Establish a database for donor agencies, as well as tracking all call for proposals.

Minimum Requirements:
-Master Degree with a focus on professional writing, journalism, communications, public relations
or equivalent work-related experience
-At least 3 years experience working in the required field.
-Excellent communication skills (both written and oral), team work skills, computer skills, and
ability to work under pressure.
-Proficiency in English Language.
