Program Summary:
Project HOPE is providing humanitarian assistance to the conflict-affected population in Gaza. The current response portfolio focuses on Health, Mental Health and Psychosocial Support, Protection, and WASH programming through Project HOPE programs and local partnerships.
POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the guidance of the Communications Officer, the assistant will contribute to the implementation of operational communication, local media management and content gathering, focusing on news alert and to work on the production of communication, advocacy content and to related program/project activities.
The role involves developing content creation and implementing communication and promoting the achievements, event support to enhance public awareness of Project HOPE’s work.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist day-to-day communications execution ensuring that high-quality work is delivered in a timely manner to support core Project HOPE activities in the best possible way.
- Assist the Communications Officer in capturing, recording, and transforming content into insightful/strategic information to communicate with Project HOPE’s main stakeholders.
- Support preparation of communication materials and statements to support Project HOPE’s Gaza programming.
- Assist and provide administrative support to the Communications Officer on the delivery of high-level, strategic messages, at meetings, reports, and newsletters, and when needed ad hoc.
- Regularly monitor media and local situation regarding Project HOPE.
- Draft routine correspondence and texts for the office’s website and maintain information databases.
- Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in in Multimedia, Journalism, Communications, or related university degree.
- Previous working experience of at least five years in audio/ visual production, journalism or communications.
- Previous experience at local or international NGOs is desirable.
- Previous working experience in producing written, audio-visual material.
- Excellent writing skills in Arabic and English “an asset”
- Good knowledge in producing content.
- Good networking and media relations skills
- Essential computer literacy (word, excel and internet),
- Knowledge of graphic design and video editing is an asset.
- Outgoing personality, good balance between initiative and working in a team.
- Strong knowledge of social media use and tools.
- Strong commitment to the humanitarian principles of humanity, impartiality, neutrality, and independence.
- Flexibility and adaptability to changes in work environment.
- Availability to visit field where Project HOPE projects are running.

- This position is based in Gaza. Given the current conflict conditions, candidate must be able to work in a rapidly changing environment.
- Position will be in resource-deprived environment with austere living conditions.
- Travel for extended periods may be by air and/or other modes of transportation.
- Project HOPE employees may be required to travel or work in countries where working conditions are classified as “hardship.”
