The Communications Clerk will provide targeted assistance in the area of Communications. It is expected that the work of the incumbent will assist in developing communication material and information which will be disseminated in support of UNOPS in building donor relationships in furtherance of our contribution of development assistance to the Palestinian people.
Functional Responsibilities
Functional Responsibilities
-The incumbent shall work closely and assist the Communications Officer in preparing for various communication tools, including drafting press releases, factsheets, documenting projects, organizing events, follow up with media and other urgent communications tasks as requested by the Communications Officer.
-The incumbent shall assist the Communications Officer in office/desk work, including setting up meetings and organizing the communication unit calendar, in addition to field work.
-Cooperating closely with the Communications Officer, the incumbent will assist in developing high-quality communication tools to include designing, drafting, and producing factsheets, success stories, and articles in the English and Arabic language in support of the communication and outreach efforts of UNOPS.
-Cooperating closely with the Communications Officer, the incumbent will translate various documents from English to Arabic and vice versa, for the communications unit and other JMOC units.
-The incumbent in close cooperation with the Programme Development manager shall assist in updating and monitoring the Programme Development Tracker, Donor Mapping and the Client Relationship Management Tools in regards to business development.
-The incumbent will carry out any other duties as are within the scope, spirit and purpose of the assignment as requested by the Communications Officer.

Education/Experience/Language requirements
Qualifications and Experience
a-Education
-Secondary Education. A Bachelor’s Degree in journalism, media, marketing, communications, public relations or other relevant discipline, an advantage.
b-Experience
-Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in communications or relevant disciplines.
-Experience working in communications and development of media, an asset.
-Practical knowledge of Microsoft Office, Excel and Power Point, required.
-Knowledge of InDesign and Photoshop, required.
c-Languages
-Written and verbal fluency in English and Arabic with strong writing skills.

Contract duration: 6 months with possibility of extension (initial contract will be issued for a period of three months with possibility of extension based on satisfactory performance).
