ROLE PURPOSE:
Global Communities is seeking Communications, Media, and Outreach Specialist for the SIDA Supporting MSMEs Competitiveness and Growth Programme in Palestine based in the Gaza Strip. This 44-months, 55 million SEK project will use a market systems development lens to better understand the critical constraints that exist to sustainable income change for large numbers of micro, small and medium enterprise owners and ensure a sustainable approach for addressing these constraints. The programme will contribute to job creation especially for women and youth and increase Palestine’s economic independence.
The Communications, Media and Outreach Specialist will lead on the day-to-day external communication of SIDA MCGP, taking ownership of the key messages to be transmitted across all public channels, including SIDA MCGP/Global communities social media accounts, press releases and public events. She/he will have the unique opportunity to develop and communicate on SIDA MCGP towards a variety of audiences.
The Communications, Media and Outreach Specialist will support the project in the design and development of project related communications, media and advocacy needs. She/he will lead on or support the development of high-quality products. The post holder will ensure the quality of products developed is in line with organizational guidelines, priorities, and objectives. The post holder will oversee and ensure compliance with GC and donor sign-off, branding, and visibility requirements as well as develop and deliver related guidance and training materials to staff and partners. The post holder will support program development, providing essential analysis, background, and review support to program teams. The post holder may be expected to work outside the normal role profile and be able to vary working hours accordingly. KEY AREAS:
Key Area 1: Communications, and Media
- Lead on the implementation of detailed media and communication plans, campaigns and media interventions in close coordination with the KM and CLA lead.
- Develop high-quality communications materials in English and Arabic for use in programme activities and advocacy, such as written, verbal and photographic updates on the situation, as needed, to support media and outreach work.
- Develop and follow the implementation of communications and visibility plans for all the project in WB and Gaza.
- Administer and support related procurement processes needed for communication activities including ToRs development, requests for quotations and tenders for communication material according to the procedures, as required.
- Work with teams to ensure quality, compliance with organizational guidelines and appropriate content and provide review of all communication material and awareness raising material produced and distributed the project, audio-visual and print.
- Set up and implement a production and distribution plan of all awareness raising material that will be produced within the project activities.
- Lead the development of communications materials around special reports or project reports.
- Lead on the development of social media websites, content, and management, as needed.
- Oversee the delivery of planned campaigns including the development of campaign materials and all aspects of implementation relevant to project plans.
- Ensure all messaging aligns with key business strategies.
- Develop and implement strategies for (social) media engagement.
- Develop content for social media, websites, newsletters, press releases, and any other distribution channels.
- Update SIDA MCGP website content and structure.
- Create high quality visualizations to support the communications strategy.
- Develop monthly, quarterly, and annual media activity reports.
- Plan, create and oversee the design, content, and production of social media.
Key Area 2: Research, Reporting and Documentation
- Responsible for leading and drafting factsheets, press releases, by collecting information from reputable sources and developing or supporting the production of social media content.
- Support the documentation and visibility needs for the project (case studies, short stories, photographs, video’s, branding and visibility etc.).
- Support the team in finalizing the project reports as requested.
Key Area 3: Branding and Visibility
- Ensure understanding and compliance of SIDA and partner branding and visibility requirements.
- Review and approve all project visibility materials destined for an external audience, both for program and administrative purposes, to ensure compliance with Global Communities and donor branding requirements.

Qualifications:
Overall, we are looking for a self-motivated and creative person with strong writing, editing, layout and design skills and with experience in translating complex concepts into simple and engaging messages. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is highly appreciated.
- Master’s degree in Social Sciences, Business, Public relations, Journalism & Media, or related fields with at least 4 years of similar experience in a recognized local or international agency in Palestine in a communications-related role.
- Bachelor’s degree in social sciences, Business, Public relations, Journalism & Media, or related fields with at least 6 years of similar experience in a recognized local or international agency in Palestine in a communications-related role
- Previous experience in communications, design, photography, audio, or video content creation and editing.
- Experience in managing different social media platforms.
- Written and spoken fluency in English and Arabic.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage a complex and diverse workload and to work to tight deadlines.
- Ability to contribute to a small, proactive team, motivating staff and working collaboratively with colleagues and providing support and advice as required.
- Previous experience in professional writing for progress reports.
- Excellent Computer skills (Microsoft Office and other online applications)
Desirable
- Experience working in Private Sector and MSMEs development sphere.
- Ability to travel and work across West Bank, East Jerusalem, and Gaza to monitor and capture Programme activities.
