Overview:
Global Communities is seeking a Community Engagement and Resilience Officer for the USAID Improve Livelihoods and Enhance Economic Development (ILEED). This five-year, up to $60 million program will focus on promoting resilient livelihoods in Gaza and give households the tools they need to cope with recurrent crises. ILEED will engage both the demand and supply actors within the conflict affected market system. Programs and activities will support the production of and access to basic products and services that community entrepreneurs are already engaged in producing and providing, as well as encourage community entrepreneurs to fill critical service gaps with localized solutions. ILEED will also work to increasing access to resources and basic commodities to support community development and resilience.
Position Summary:
Global Communities is seeking a dedicated Community Engagement and Resilience Officer who will work closely with the Community Development and Resilience Team Lead (CDRTL) to support and manage all aspects of the community development and resilience component. A sound understanding of the project cycle and humanitarian and development contexts, along with strong skills in planning, organization, communication, teamwork, and program coordination, are required.
Responsibilities:
- Support the Community Development and Resilience Team Lead (CDRTL) in developing a community development and resilience strategy in line with Global Communities’ policies and best practices.
- Participate in developing and implementing activities action plans.
- Participate in preparing the internal documents and tools needed for implementation.
- Participate in the selection process of the targeted CSOs and Cash for Work participants.
- Assist in Conducting assessments to identify gaps in CSOs' organizational capacities and develop tailored development plans.
- Act as the focal point for partners and targeted civil society organizations, conducting regular check-ins, and maintaining strong relationships.
- Conduct regular field visits to follow up the implantation and progress of program activities.
- Coordinate with Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) staff to ensure quality M&E systems for community development and resilience.
- Collaborate and work closely with other team members to effectively roll out program activities.
- Identify and establish collaborative partnerships with other humanitarian partners, coordination bodies, and relevant stakeholders.
- Ensure timely and accurate reporting of program activities, including challenges, success stories and lessons learned.

Qualifications :
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Development Studies, economics, or another related field.
- At least 3 years of professional experience in resilience, community development, and humanitarian assistance.
- Demonstrated experience in the resilience and humanitarian sectors, with a strong understanding of the local context.
- Proven track record in implementing community engagement strategies that foster sustainable development and deliver measurable outcomes.
- Highly desired experience in developing monitoring and evaluation systems for resilience and community development programs.
- Experience in managing or supporting cash-based interventions including Cash for Work (CfW) programs.
- Strong project management skills, including the ability to plan, coordinate, and oversee multiple activities simultaneously.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office applications and other project management tools.
- Professional working proficiency in English.
