Community Health Educator
Accountabilities
• Prepare material and deliver health education sessions, messages and topics addressed to different populations regarding hygiene, diseases, and prevention.
• Ensure all the patients and caretakers are well informed, according to protocols, about health related issues and services provided.
• Monitor health situation and living conditions of the population by conducting nutritional screening, collecting information related to food security, checking vaccination status of children, looking actively for any defaulters in programs that require this type of research, collecting information on number of people arriving or leaving the community, births, and deaths in the community, etc.
• Identify people with medical problems, contact with medical team and report for immediate transfer if needed. He/she must inform to the line manager about any problem encountered (population, equipment, material…).
• Report to line manager of all results of screening and visits on a regular basis.
MSF Section/Context Specific Accountabilities
· Implement group session targeting all malnutrition patients and caretakers guided by session guidance for malnutrition.
· Conduct individual counselling follow up for specific malnutrition patients need in depth support.
· Patient tracing activity for both referred patients form ITFC (on weekly basis), and for absent patients (on daily bases).
· Survey and assessment data collection for less than 6 months patients (PHQ4, breastfeeding assessment)
· Support patients less than 6 months in referral for different services.
· Follow up with patients less than 6 months in breastfeeding difficulties.
· Support medical doctor in contacting other actors to refer malnutrition cases.
· Document all daily activities on registration sheets and submit it to HPO.
· Service promotion sessions targeting patients and caretakers.
· Implement HP sessions (individual and group) for patients and caretakers regarding medical topics trending mainly in pediatric and emergency departments.
· Daily documentation of all activities implemented in the facility.
· Document feedback received form patients to what’s up group.
· Support HPO and HPCE supervisor in any specific tasks.
· Report to HPO the needs for HP activities.
· Distribute food and dignity kits to patients according to criteria.

Education
Literacy essential. An internal MSF training on health messages will be necessary.
Experience
None is required.
Languages
Mission language desirable and local language essential.
