Community Mobilizer
Palestinian Environmental Friends Association (PEF) is a non-profit organization (Nongovernmental Organization). It was established in 1998 , Date of Registration 09/08/2000 with Registration number (6008) by a group of Palestinian experts to meet the demand needed in the field of the environment and natural resources. The establishment of PEF enables environmental friends all over the world to cooperate neglecting geological and political constrains to stop the negative impacts on the environment. Together, we create a universe free from pollution, sustainable and suitable for new generations.
PEF practiced projects almost all over Gaza Strip. The projects activities mainly covered the following areas: water and wastewater, food security, shelter, education, public health, global warming, infrastructure and capacity building activities, compost production, solid waste and awareness programs , PEF offices Gaza strip (Rafah city & Gaza city) , please visit www.pefrafah.org.ps.
Competency and skills
- Participates in planning and budgeting, preparation of work plans, implementation of planned activities and monitoring/ reporting of progress.
- Facilitates and monitors the implementation of planned activities and community level engagements.
- Mobilizes and facilitates the engagements of stakeholders during planning and development meetings, workshops and seminars.
- Identifies local level partners, support and facilitates the partnership in the implementation of planned activities.
- Facilitates stakeholders and partners in supervision and monitoring of programmatic activities.
- Supports the collection and documentation of impact and success stories on monthly, quarterly, semiannual and annually.
- Maintains and updates databases on a monthly basis
- Documentation of evidence based impact stories.
- Mobilizes and facilitates active participation of local community members to participate in planning, monitoring and implementation and evaluation of community development initiatives.
- Organizes meetings, workshops, and training sessions at the local level to assess progress in implementation of the project activities through conducting field visits, rising level of awareness, behavior change, etc.
- Facilitates networking relationships and participation with wide stakeholders such as government, church, faith-based organization leaders and other key partners at local level such as NGOs, and CBOs.
- Carry out KAP surveys in the targeted communities.
- Assist in the preparation and coordination for any field visits related to the project activities.
- Design and implement the activities of community mobilization.
- Participate in the preparation of the targeted HHs selection criteria.
- Participate in the distribution of water storage tanks.
- Carry out public awareness sessions and hygiene promotion campaign.
- Design and implement community mass media campaign.
- Participate in the preparation and implementing of the open days at each community to promote hygiene promotion.
- Participate in designing IEC (Information, Education and Communication) materials and distribution of these materials among the project duration.
- Participate in preparing and implementing of Simulation exercises.
- Participate in implementing and following up the developed Water Safety Plans in the targeted communities.
- Performs other duties as required.
- Understands the Palestinian culture and ability to work with diverse communities.
- Be able to work effectively within the team and independently under pressure.

Educational qualifications:

Social and humanitarian sciences / Any related field
Practical experiences
- Minimum of 5 years of practical experience in a community engagement, reporting, data collection and entry
- Work experience in the humanitarian field with direct contact to local communities Language Requirement
Good in English (written and oral).
