Community Mobilizers

The YEC is non-profit, non-governmental, non-partisan, public and voluntary center, which founded to lead children, adolescents, and youth and empower them through the adoption of programs, projects, and initiatives seeking for developing them socially, economically, healthy, and politically and to promote positive change in society.

During the years 2010&2011, YEC has implemented the second version of the project " Improving Public Health Conditions in Damaged Schools & Kindergartens in Gaza strip", YEC and Oxfam GP has agreed to implement the 3'rd version of the project  in 3 schools and 5 kindergartens for 8 months. In this project Youth Empowerment Center (YEC) will be responsible for increasing hygienic behaviours of children/students, teachers, caregivers and the neighborhoods' communities of these 5 KGs and 3 schools.
 
We welcome applications for six posts from qualified applicants who have the required experience and skills.
 
Community Mobilizers – 6 Posts
The mobilizers will be to work on the field to support the project implementation. The mobilizers will work under the supervision of the Project Coordinator.

Geographical distribution of the posts:
-Rafah (1 post for male Gender).
-Khanyounis (2 posts for male Gender).
-Gaza District (3 posts for female or male Gender).

Contract period: 7 months.
Working hours: 6 hours a day from (8:00 to 14:00)
Commencement: the 1'st of August 2011.

Main Key responsibilities:
-Develop monthly plan of actions for the future activities with participation of each related committee.
-Ensure the availability of all logistics, stationery and other needed materials.
-Participate in forming and supervising different voluntary committees and facilitate their works.
-Conduct regular meeting with the committees and take its minutes.
-Write and submit daily reports to the project coordinator.
-Conduct training courses to the voluntary committees.
-Conducting women sessions and home visits.
-Provide the project management team with relevant materials for media.
-Strength the linkages between the committees, school & KG and the community.
-Other duties requested by the coordinator.
 
Main Skills and Competences
-B.A Degree with a background in Health/ Environmental or social science.
-Experience in community mobilization and public awareness campaigns.
-Familiar in hygiene promotion issues like personal, domestic and environmental hygiene, rationale use of water. Etc.
-Spirit of voluntarism approach and teamwork
-High communication skills and cultural sensitivity
-Ability to work under pressure.
-Good reporting and managerial skills
-Fluency in Arabic, English writing is desirable
